THE OPPORTUNITY

STEPS now has an exciting opportunity for a Recruitment Consultant to work in the outer northern suburbs of Brisbane on a full time basis.

This position is primarily responsible for providing opportunities to jobseekers with mental health issues to move into secure sustainable employment.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and developing partnerships that provide opportunities for long term sustainable employment for jobseekers;
  • Conducting general job search activities to secure sustainable employment opportunities in order to achieve individual performance goals;
  • Building rapport with jobseekers to effectively reverse market to employers who are able to provide sustainable employment; and
  • Actively participating in the local area Employer networks and forums to understand the local labour market and develop strategies to meet the needs of employers and industry.

To be successful in this role, you will have qualifications at the Certificate level or higher in Employment Services, Recruitment or similar, and the proven ability to understand employers' needs and achieve successful employment outcomes. You will have a thorough understanding of industrial relations issues in employing and supporting a person with a disability in the workplace, including specific knowledge of employer incentives.

Please note:

  • To be eligible for this role you must hold a current Driver's License. 
  • You will be required to undertake a Criminal History Check and Working with Children and/or Vulnerable Persons Check. This can be organised through STEPS.
