We are seeking an Employment Consultant who is pro-active, resilient and is able to multi-task.

 

A typical day in the life of an Employment Consultant is meeting the jobseekers, out of the office marketing and networking with employers, providing on the job support for jobseekers where required and completing admin tasks, all the while working towards individual and site KPI’s.  

 

To succeed in this role you need to go on the journey with the jobseeker, address barriers to employment, work within the DES (Disability Employment Services) Government contract guidelines and contribute to site performance. This role can be challenging and very busy at times, but also extremely rewarding.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting assessments and developing support strategies to overcome your job seekers barriers that might be preventing them from finding and keeping employment
  • Develop, document and implement high quality marketing strategies, work plans and practices
  • Coaching and developing your job seekers to become job ready by supporting them with job search, pre-employment training and workplace expectations
  • Provide on-site support during placement to maximise integration opportunities with co-workers 
  • Achieve individual and site performance targets
  • Build key partnerships within the community

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Ability to manage a challenging workload
  • Previous experience in sales and marketing with an understanding of disability services
  • A strong customer service focus with the ability to inspire clients from all walks of life to achieve their employment goals
  • A positive focus and strong performance orientation including the ability to meet and exceed key performance indicators
  • Be self driven and able to work autonomously
  • Experience dealing with complex individuals and situations

 

Qualifications

You will also possess the following qualifications:

  • Completion of a relevant Certificate level qualification e.g. Disability, Employment Services, Community Services
  • Have the ability to hold all safety when working with children and/or vulnerable persons cards required under State and/or Federal legislation and/or regulation, and receive acceptable results from any criminal history checks
